Product Over-load!

We are continuously bombarded with more and more product. Each manufacturer figuring out some new spin to repackage and promote their newest offering to the ignorant public. Like every other area of life, the best of anything is going to be a combination of factors. And when it comes to picking the right car wax product, you will have to determine the winning combination of the following areas of car wax ratings.

When it comes to choosing the best wax for the job, you have three choices in wax products:

Liquid

Spray

Each version will come with a combination of pros and cons. The goal will be to find the winning combination of this balancing act.

Paste Car Wax

Time tested and approved.

Typically the first choice for dark colored cars.

Requires more time and effort to apply and remove.

Paste waxes offer the best in hiding and covering of surface flaws and blemishes in your paint.

Is the middle of the road for protection and durability between liquid polymers and spray waxes.

Application is usually limited to cool, shaded surfaces of paint.

Will typically stain black trim pieces.

Liquid Car Wax

Liquid polymers contain the ultimate in protection and durability.

For the low-enthusiast; simply wax once every 6-12 months for protection.

Will sacrifice protection for visual perfection.

Easier to apply and remove than paste waxes; generally.

Great for any lighter colored cars where visual beauty is less a priority.

Ideal for boats and motor homes where durability is of greatest importance.

Look for a straight polymer sealant, rather than a blend of polymers and carnaubas; remember, we are focused on straight protection here.

Spray Car Waxes

The winning combination in my opinion when beauty and ease of use is your goal.

Offers limited protection.

Most will not stain black trim pieces.

Time saving due to ease of use as well as the ability to wax everything; paint and all black trim pieces.

Most can be applied in direct sunlight on hot surfaces.

Most are priced economically.

Most will not separate when not being used.

Due to advanced technology, some can compete visually with that of paste waxes.
