If the category was "Most Frustrating Car Wax Experience," then sure, that would make sense.

Applying this wax was a chore, and removing it? Even worse.

I found myself doing more rubbing and rotating than a professional detailer during a heatwave. And speaking of weather, I was working in near-perfect conditions: warm temps, low humidity—ideal for waxing. Yet somehow, this product still managed to disappoint.

And let’s not ignore the irony of the name: Black Magic. One would assume it’s specially formulated for black cars. But like everything else about this wax, that’s just another misleading suggestion. The name only adds insult to an already frustrating experience.

Then there are the directions. You're told to wait for it to “haze” before removal—but it never hazes. At all. If there’s a silver lining here, it’s that the product doesn't leave behind much dust during removal. But that’s hardly enough to justify the effort.

Darren's Tips: As easy as easy gets! Many consider a paste wax to be more durable when compared to a liquid or spray wax —I remain unclear on this as it is so hard to quantify the durability of any wax due to countless variables. If you have a dark or black car then I would lean into the paste wax first for better hiding capabilities compared to a liquid wax. Can also be used in direct sunlight.
